Book and lyrics by James Rado and Gerome Ragni
Music by Galt MacDermot
Directed by Ari Rodriguez
Produced by Audrey Frischman and WalkUpArts
With the Viet Nam War looming over an entire generation, this rock musical explores political activism, pacifism and revolution with beloved songs such as Aquarius, Good Morning Starshine, and Let the Sun Shine In. Hair has become the musical synonymous with the hippie counter culture, sexual freedom and protest of the 1960’s. In the 50th year since its debut, Hair is just as relevant today. Taking an alternative approach, this one-of-a-kind production of Hair will be performed by a cast made up entirely of Baby Boomers who lived through the Age of Aquarius to tell a story that continues to resonate with generation after generation.
